Why a woman's actions has nothing to do with being raped

First of all I must say how refreshing it is to see a campaign that is both raising awareness and challenging ignorance. It really is a breath of fresh air.

Secondly, I wanted to share my experience. I was spiked and raped in1995. I was wearing a short skirt but this had nothing to do with my rape. I had had very little to drink and I flirted a little bit - again this had no effect on wether I was raped or not. The "man" who raped me told me that he spiked one of the drinks out of the round that I bought and I was "just unlucky" that it was mine that the drug ended up in. He didn't choose a victim by length of skirt or by beauty by how drunk they were or by anything. It was a complete lottery. I could have been wearing the most modest of clothing and it would have made no difference at all. I could have been anyone and it wouldn't have changed anything. I could have been t-total and the same would have happened. In fact I even think that if I had been male the out come would have been exactly the same. The fact is that "people" like that don't care an iota who they hurt. So I don't believe for one second that the fact that I was raped was anyone's fault but his. End of.
