Campaign reaction

All about women?

While i admire it being brought to the public attention about rape etc, the advert, and also this full site seems directed at females. Yes, the majority of rape cases have females as the victims, but don't forget men can be at the recieving end of such traumas too...

Thank you Kirsty and you are absolutely correct. Not only can men be the victims, but women can also be the predators, such as my own case.

Gendercizing rape serves to silence, minimize and make a segment of survivors invisible. In the long run, it does a great deal of damage and is a nasty form of secondary wounding.

I think you're absolutely right. I'd love to see more campaigns that are supportive of male rape victims.

As badly as women can be treated during a rape crisis, I have to say, I think men who are raped are treated even worse - if treated at all. It's scary to report a rape when you are a woman, and it's just as, if not moreso, to do the same as a man. Sickeningly, it is expected that a rape victim will be female, and men are made to feel like less of a man if they are raped.
